Finally got around to edit a new shot. This is a shot of the barren jetties of Carrasqueira, sadly the most impressive pier got destroyed by flood some time ago so these are its remainders.
I hadn't seen a nighttime shot of these piers on DA yet so I figured early mornings blue hour accompanied by the lights of the industrial area on the opposite side of the riverdelta might look good and I wasn't mistaken, as it seems at least. Since SvenMueller and I slept right next to the entrance to the piers we had quite some time exploring the area the night before. Here I went for a rather cold white balance to counter the strong orange cast from the industrial lights which turned out to be the right decision for I really like the purple touch it added.
While standing there on the piers I found it to be intriguing that the container port on the otherside was quite the modern contradiction to the rather old fashioned fishing harbor thus the title.

Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactOk, this is one of the best pictures I have seen. The angle that you took the shot from is just perfect, and also you took it at the right time of the day. The broken pier kind of adds this effect that blows me away because you know how everything cannot be perfect right? Well the worn down pier represents that. This is such a great picture. Another thing that is pretty epic about this is how you included the sticks or whatever they are (broken tree limbs??) in the water instead of like going in the middle or something like that. The angle of the shot, how you slanted the bridge for a person's perspective not in the middle of the pier but at the side, well it is just truly amazing. And my favorite part of the photo is the light shining, well you know how you can do it pretty low to not show the complete light? Well this is just the perfect angle.
