My second deviation originating from my recent trip to the Alps with SvenMueller. This was taken on the 2nd morning we spent in the Aiguille Rouge area after our exhausting 6 hour ascend to the Chesery Lake which was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Carrying a 25kg backpack with all my camera stuff, some food and sleeping bag etc. and walking trails with more than 1000 meters of altitude difference is actually pretty though.
We spent the first night next to the smaller lakes next to Chesery Lake and used the first morning shooting Chesery and later went up to Blanc Lake for the evening which didn't really offer any usable light though, so we stayed the night to shoot the next morning. During the night rain and wind really gave us a hard time sleeping at first we were in constant fear of our tent getting blown away and we wondered if we'd rather pack our stuff and leave but in the end the gale settled and we were able to get a couple of hours sleep.
This shot was taken on the northern shore of Blanc Lake towards the Chamonix massif and Mount Blanc to the right (you can't really see it though). I did some experiments with different exposure times as well as some work on the reflections with my C.Pol but luckily the wind and rain didn't start until we were almost half done with our compositions and I was able to get this shot with some great reflections to say the least; only some of the stones at the bottom of the lake are visible in the foreground. I am pretty content with the outcome, still I guess I'll also work on one with some stones in the foreground and less reflection as well after uploading some other shots from the trip.
