After shooting another sunrise at Wast Water on our second weekend trip to the Lake District Risrafel
and I went to the area of Eskdale to walk down the Stanley Ghyll Force trail in the middle of nowhere. This shot was made along the way when I realized that the footpath was actually pretty "surfaced" and even included some bridges just like this one.
I was really amazed by the length of the valley the brook was flowing through and the weird vegetation. The further we headed up the trail the more Rhododendron bushes were to be found (upper left corner of the image) leaving the impression of an Asian high altitude forest rather then something in the middle of Cumbria. Also the path itself emanated a mystic atmosphere and I really enjoyed the walk - especially good to get my mind of my broken gear. The donuts we had for breakfast at the waterfall all by our selves were quite good too. Hope you enjoy.
